Welcome to the Child and Maternity Partnership (CHaMP) website
What is CHaMP?
A national service improvement resource for Child Health and Maternity Services funded and supported by the Office of the Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs) Chief Executives and the Department of Health (DH).It acts as a vehicle for consultancy and capacity building for service improvement with particular expertise in integrated working across health and social care. This offers it a unique position in the innovation and improvement field as it is able to provide support for service delivery, joint commissioning ,and knowledge sharing across multiple stakeholders and strengthening partnership arrangements. It should be acknowledged that CHaMP is at present a small resource with finite capacity but is one of the few resources available that exclusively focuses on child health and maternity services.
GOVERNANCE - is via a national steering group with representation from SHA Children’s Leads, DH, Children’s Service Advisors, National CAMHS Support Service and ChiMat
Work undertaken by CHaMP will be:-
- support jointly agreed ‘must do’ objectives particularly where one product is the most effective use of resources
- be added value
- value for money
- performance related, in particular be outcome focussed
- improve the patient/child/parent experience
- be deliverable by the existing CHaMP capacity or by those commissioned by CHaMP
Developing Potential Partnership arrangements
CHaMP is already developing partnership arrangements with:-
CHiMAT (Child & Maternal Health Observatory)
- knowledge hub/web discussion groups
- website development
- linking data and tools to practice with increased capacity at a local level
National CAMHS Support Service
- To enable collaboration on service improvement
- Avoid duplication
- Share expertise
CHaMP is also looking to develop partnership arrangements with other related organisations.
